“We've had fire ant problems every spring since we bought our home in Cinco Ranch. David came out, treated the mounds, and put down granular bait across the whole yard. He explained exactly why Katy soils produce so many fire ants. Two seasons in and the problem is finally manageable. He's the first company that actually explained the why.”
Pest and Termite Control in Katy, TX
Katy's rapid suburban growth, Katy Prairie adjacency, and post-Harvey soil disturbance create one of the most demanding pest environments in greater Houston. Resolve Pest and Termite is owner-operated by David, a licensed technician with more than 20 years of experience, serving Katy homeowners from Cinco Ranch to Grand Lakes with honest, no-contract pest and termite solutions.
- Subterranean termite control for Katy's slab homes — post-Harvey soil disturbance activated colonies across the area
- Fire ant treatment for Katy's sandy-loam soils — one of the worst fire ant zones in greater Houston
- Mosquito barrier spray for pool homes and irrigated landscaping along the Katy Prairie corridor
- Same-day service available across Katy and surrounding Cinco Ranch, Grand Lakes, and Firethorne neighborhoods
Why Katy Homeowners Face Exceptional Pest and Termite Pressure
Katy sits at the edge of the Katy Prairie, one of the last remaining coastal prairie ecosystems in Texas. That adjacency means residential neighborhoods in Cinco Ranch, Grand Lakes, and Firethorne are under constant pressure from wildlife and insects displaced by development and driven toward structures by the open land beside them. Fire ant pressure in Katy's sandy-loam transition soils is among the most severe in the Houston metro — new subdivisions disturb established mounds and scatter colonies into yards and landscaping across entire neighborhoods.
The flooding from Hurricane Harvey in 2017 reshaped Katy's pest landscape in ways still felt today. The Addicks and Barker Reservoirs, which border Katy to the east, held unprecedented water levels during and after the storm. The resulting soil saturation and disturbance activated dormant subterranean termite colonies across west Harris County. Homes that had never shown termite activity began experiencing infestations in the years following Harvey as displaced colonies re-established in the disturbed soil around foundations.
Resolve Pest and Termite is based in Harris County and serves Katy and surrounding communities. David performs every inspection and treatment personally. There are no contracts, no commissioned salespeople, and no upsells on treatments that are not warranted. Katy families get straight answers, EPA-registered products, and child-safe application methods — because Katy ISD parents deserve pest control that fits their household.

Pest and Termite Services in Katy
From post-Harvey subterranean termite treatment to fire ant control and mosquito barrier spray — every service David offers in Katy.
Termite Control and Inspection
WDO inspections and Termidor liquid barrier treatments for Katy's slab homes. Post-Harvey soil disturbance activated subterranean termite colonies across west Harris County, making annual inspection a meaningful safeguard for Katy homeowners — especially those near the Addicks and Barker flood zones.
Fire Ant Control
Katy's sandy-loam transition soils produce some of the most aggressive fire ant pressure in greater Houston. New subdivision construction scatters mounds into adjacent yards. David treats mounds and applies broadcast granular bait for broad yard coverage that protects kids, pets, and bare feet all season.
General Pest Control
Year-round pest control covering cockroaches, spiders, silverfish, and occasional invaders. The I-10 commercial corridor brings cockroach and rodent pressure close to Katy's residential neighborhoods, and Katy Prairie wildlife keeps outdoor pest pressure elevated throughout the year.
Mosquito Control
Barrier spray for Katy's pool homes and irrigated landscaping from March through November. Poorly maintained pool water and dense drip-irrigated mulch beds create breeding habitat in Katy's large-lot neighborhoods. Monthly barrier treatment reduces biting pressure significantly.
Rodent Control
Land clearing for new Katy subdivisions displaces rodent populations into established neighborhoods. David handles trapping, exclusion sealing, and entry-point assessment for Katy homes experiencing rodent activity from displaced populations near active construction zones.
Bed Bug Control
Discreet bed bug treatment for Katy homes. Katy's active real estate market and family travel patterns make bed bug introductions a real concern. David assesses the extent of activity and applies targeted heat or chemical treatment based on the situation.
How Resolve Handles Pest and Termite Problems in Katy
Inspect first, treat what is actually present, document what was done.
- 1
Honest Inspection
David inspects the property to confirm what pest or termite species is present, where activity is concentrated, and what conditions are contributing to the problem. For Katy slab homes, this includes the foundation perimeter, expansion joints, irrigation lines, and any mulch beds at the foundation edge. No treatment is recommended before the inspection is complete.
- 2
Targeted Treatment Plan
Treatment is selected based on species, severity, and Katy's specific environmental factors — sandy-loam soil behavior near the prairie, irrigation moisture at slab edges, and proximity to the Addicks or Barker flood zones all affect which products and methods work best.
- 3
Precise Application
EPA-registered products applied at the identified problem areas. For family-oriented Katy homes, David uses targeted application methods that keep product away from play areas and pet zones while still delivering effective coverage at foundation perimeters, mound locations, and entry points.
- 4
Follow-Up and Guarantee
If pest activity returns between scheduled visits, David comes back. Satisfaction guarantee means the job is not complete until the problem is resolved, not just treated.
What Katy Homeowners Say About Resolve
“Our termite inspector flagged potential activity near the back bedroom slab joint during a pre-sale WDO inspection. David came out the next day, did a full perimeter assessment, and found an active subterranean colony near the irrigation line. He applied a Termidor barrier and gave us a clear written report. Deal closed on schedule.”
“We have a pool and a big landscaped yard, and mosquitoes were making it completely unusable after 5pm from April through October. David set up a monthly barrier spray program and it made an immediate difference. He also pointed out a drainage issue in one of our mulch beds that was creating a breeding spot we didn't know about.”
Firethorne Slab Home: Post-Harvey Subterranean Termite Colony Intercepted Before Structural Damage
The Problem
A Firethorne homeowner contacted Resolve three years after Hurricane Harvey when a routine landscaping project along the back fence revealed mud tubes at the foundation edge near the irrigation valve box. The home was a 2014 slab construction with drip irrigation running along all four sides of the foundation. The homeowner had never had a termite inspection and assumed new construction meant low risk.
Our Solution
David inspected the full foundation perimeter, the garage slab expansion joints, and the irrigation trench runs. He found an active subterranean termite colony with foraging tunnels in the soil at two points along the back foundation and one garage corner where the drip irrigation had kept the soil moist year-round. He applied Termidor SC in a continuous liquid barrier at the full foundation perimeter and installed Sentricon bait stations at the three active foraging zones.
The Outcome
Mud tube activity at the identified locations ceased within four weeks. A 90-day follow-up found Sentricon bait taken at two of three stations. No structural wood damage was found at the foundation framing during the follow-up inspection. The homeowner enrolled in an annual inspection plan and had the irrigation system adjusted to reduce moisture accumulation at the foundation line.
