Houston Flea Treatment

Professional Flea Treatment in Houston, TX

If you're still getting bitten after using flea bombs or store sprays, the problem is the life cycle — eggs and pupae in your carpet survive most OTC products and hatch for weeks after treatment. Resolve applies both an adulticide and an IGR (insect growth regulator) that stops eggs from developing, breaking the cycle that keeps infestations coming back.

  • IGR stops flea eggs and larvae from developing — the piece OTC flea bombs consistently miss
  • Indoor treatment covers carpets, floors, baseboards, furniture bases, and pet resting areas in a single visit
  • Yard treatment included — outdoor flea populations are the ongoing source of indoor re-infestation
  • Re-treatment guarantee — if fleas are still active at the follow-up, we treat again at no additional charge

Why Resolve's Flea Treatment Works When Others Don't

Treating adults alone is not enough — the life cycle has to be broken.

  • IGR disrupts flea egg and larval development — prevents the next generation from hatching into biting adults
  • Indoor coverage includes carpets, baseboards, pet resting areas, furniture bases, and floor crevices
  • Yard treatment included in the same visit — addresses the outdoor source of re-infestation
  • Re-treatment guarantee at the follow-up if flea activity persists after the initial visit
  • No contracts required — one-time flea treatment available with follow-up built in

Houston Families Who Finally Got Their Flea Problem Solved

“We set off three flea bombs over six weeks and still had fleas. David explained that flea bombs don't penetrate under furniture and don't have IGR, so the eggs just keep hatching. One treatment from Resolve — indoors and the yard the same day — and the fleas were gone within three weeks. I wish I'd called sooner.”

Sugar Land, TX

“Our cat was on Frontline but we still had fleas in the carpet. Turns out the environment was infested from eggs that had built up for months. David treated all the carpet areas, under the couch, and the yard. The follow-up visit was included and he confirmed everything was cleared. Really thorough.”

Pearland, TX

“I have two dogs and after a vacation where they were boarded, came home to a full flea infestation — apparently fleas hatch in huge numbers when no host is around and then attack all at once. David got us scheduled quickly, treated inside and outside, and explained the whole follow-up timeline. Problem was gone by the third week.”

What Resolve's Flea Treatment Covers

Three treatment zones that address every part of the flea life cycle.

Interior Flea Treatment

Adulticide applied to all floor surfaces, carpet edges, and baseboards throughout the home. Covers under furniture, along walls, and in floor crevices where flea eggs and larvae accumulate.

Pet Area Treatment

Dog beds, crate floors, cat tree bases, and other pet resting surfaces receive direct treatment. These areas carry the highest concentration of flea eggs in most infested homes.

IGR Application

Insect growth regulator applied alongside the adulticide indoors and to the yard. IGR prevents flea eggs and larvae from developing into biting adults, breaking the reproductive cycle that restarts infestations.

How Resolve's Flea Treatment Works

Prep, treat, yard, follow-up — a complete four-step process.

  1. 1

    Prep Instructions

Before the visit, you receive clear prep guidance: vacuum all carpets, wash pet bedding, clear floors, and arrange for pets and family to be out of treated areas. Good prep significantly improves treatment results.

  2. 2

    Indoor Treatment Day

David applies adulticide plus IGR to carpets, floor surfaces, baseboards, furniture bases, and all pet resting areas. Treatment covers all rooms with flea activity plus adjacent areas. Re-entry window communicated before application.

  3. 3

    Yard Treatment

Outdoor perimeter, lawn edges, shaded zones, and under-deck areas treated on the same visit. Eliminating the outdoor flea population is the step that prevents re-infestation through pets going outside.

  4. 4

    Follow-Up Visit

Return visit scheduled 2-3 weeks after the initial treatment. New adults from pupae that survived the first application are treated. Most infestations are fully cleared by the follow-up visit.

Case Study

Pearland Home with Three Cats: Fleas Spread to Entire First Floor Cleared in Three Weeks

The Problem

A Pearland family with three indoor cats noticed flea biting in one bedroom in early spring. Over two months they tried two rounds of flea bombs and applied topical flea treatment to all three cats. The infestation spread from one bedroom to the entire first floor. By the time they called Resolve, they were seeing fleas on the carpet in every room of the main level.

Our Solution

David assessed the home and found egg load concentrated in three cat resting areas — two beds and a sofa — with larvae visible in the carpet along the walls in two rooms. He applied adulticide plus IGR to all first-floor carpet surfaces, baseboards, furniture bases, and all cat resting areas in one visit. The full yard was treated the same day, including the screened porch where the cats sometimes sat. Prep had been completed as instructed, including a full vacuuming and laundering all cat bedding.

The Outcome

Flea biting stopped within 48 hours. At the follow-up visit 20 days later, minimal adult activity was noted in one room from hatching pupae, and that area was re-treated at no charge. The home was fully clear by day 25. The cats remained in the home throughout, and no product was applied to the animals. The family reported no return of flea activity in the weeks following the follow-up.

Flea Treatment FAQs

Do I need to leave during flea treatment?
Yes. People, children, and pets should be out of the home during treatment and for the re-entry window after — typically 30-60 minutes once the product has dried. David communicates the specific re-entry time before starting. After re-entry, vacuuming carpets helps activate any remaining IGR and removes dead adults.
Do I need to treat my pets separately?
Yes. Resolve treats the indoor and outdoor environment but does not apply products to animals. Your veterinarian should provide a flea treatment for all pets on or around the same day as the home treatment. Treating the environment without treating the pet — or the reverse — leaves the cycle incomplete and results will be slower.
Why didn't the flea bomb work?
Flea bombs release a fog that settles on horizontal surfaces and open floor areas. They do not penetrate under furniture, reach into carpet fibers effectively, or contain IGR to stop egg development. The fog kills adults in open areas but leaves most of the flea population — which is in the pre-adult stage — unaffected. Eggs hatch and the cycle continues.
How long do fleas survive without a host?
Adult fleas need a blood meal to survive and reproduce but can live for several days without one. Flea larvae and pupae in carpet can persist for weeks to months waiting for a host. This is why an empty house can appear flea-free and then produce an intense infestation when people or pets return after a vacation.
Can fleas live in furniture?
Flea eggs and larvae concentrate in furniture, especially in fabric upholstery, cushion seams, and the base of sofas and chairs where pets rest. Adults hide in the same areas. Treatment covers furniture bases and pet resting surfaces. Steam cleaning upholstery after treatment can improve results in heavily infested furniture.
How long until I stop seeing fleas after treatment?
Adult flea activity typically stops within 24-48 hours. Over the following 2-3 weeks, some new adults may emerge from pupae that survived the initial treatment — pupae are the most resistant life stage. The follow-up visit addresses any remaining hatching activity. Most homes are fully flea-free within 3 weeks of the initial treatment.
